A WHEEL of Fortune contestant has left fans in disbelief with an answer that not only missed the mark but veered into the realm of fantasy.

Recently engaged Gishma, fresh off a Disney-themed bridal shower, triggered an internet storm with her imaginative guess: "The British Ogre."

The blunder unfolded during the triple toss-up puzzles towards the game show's conclusion on Tuesday, December 12's episode.

With the category "Show Biz," the three-word puzzle automatically revealed its letters.

The puzzle read: “TH_’ _RITI_S’ ‘_GR_E,’ prompting Gishma to venture into uncharted territory with her response: “The British Ogre.”

A perplexed Pat, 77, off-camera, asked her to repeat, likely hoping for a correction.

However, Gishma stuck to her guns, while her facial expression made it clear she realized her guess was off base.

"Uh, no," Pat ruled, and as more letters appeared, rival Laura swooped in with the correct answer: "The Critics Agree."

Gishma's despondent expression lingered for the remainder of the episode.

FANS REACT TO 'THE BRITISH OGRE'

Fans took to social media, expressing secondhand embarrassment and amusement over the tall tale of a moment.

One viewer wrote on X (formerly Twitter): “This girl guessed 'The British Ogre' on Wheel of Fortune, and the second-hand embarrassment was overwhelming.

She wouldn’t even look at the camera for a sec. I feel bad, but man, that sh** was funny.”

Another person wrote: “What? You’ve never heard of the British Ogre? #WheelofFortune”

A third wrote: “This woman just guessed this puzzle as The British Ogre dying laughing, so many British Ogres in show biz.”

A fourth penned: “The British Ogre????? Wheel of Fortune blows my mind every night.”

A fifth drummed up an idea: “The British Ogre sounds like a cool band name. #WheelofFortune.”

While neither Gishma nor Laura clinched victory in the episode, it was the third contestant, Rob, who emerged triumphant, walking away with $16,400 despite not conquering the bonus puzzle.

Wheel of Fortune continues to dazzle and confound fans with unexpected answers under the pressure of the game.

Earlier this year, NFL star Rashad Jennings went viral for thinking director Quentin Tarantino was "Puentin" Tarantino.

Last season, a contestant mistook "Lox" for "Bagels with Low and cream cheese," and just last month, a confident guess for a bowling-related puzzle was "Stripes, Stars, and Butter Balls."

PAT'S A WRAP

Pat announced in June that he would be retiring from the longtime gig on the beloved nightly show after the 41st season.

He will be replaced by American Idol host and TV personality Ryan Seacrest, 48.

As for Vanna White (Pat's co-host over the past four decades), she could be replaced by Pat's daughter and social media correspondent Maggie Sajak someday.

Vanna, 66, hinted that Maggie should be her successor once her new contract is up in 2026 to E! in September.

She shared: "I think she's a good replacement if I can't be there for some reason.

"She's been around it her whole life, so I think she can fill in for me for sure. She's precious, she's beautiful, she's very good," Vanna added.
