JEOPARDY! player Daniel Nguyen has made a very strategic move during Friday's game show episode.

Daniel finished strong on Jeopardy!'s Champion Wildcard-themed show following the head-turning moment.

Daniel was in the lead most of the episode, earning $20,800 by the Final Jeopardy! round.

Right on his tail was fellow game show champion Matt Glassman, with $19,200 in the closing round.

Meanwhile, competing competitor Jamie Logan was in third place in the last round, scoring only $9,200 by that point.

Composers were the make-or-break category for the contestants in the final round.

Host Ken Jennings, 49, gave the players the clue: "He was given piano lessons by Madame Maute De Fleurville, the mother-in-law of Paul Verlaine, whose poetry he would later set to music."

Jamie guessed, "Who is [Claude] Debussy," waging all of her earnings.

In the end, she doubled her money and pocketed $18.4K since her answer was correct.

DANIEL DRIVES IT HOME

However, Matt lost a little of his earnings because his guess, "Who is [Ludwig van] Beethoven," was wrong.

Matt's take-home amount was deduced to $17,599 since he had bet $1,601.

Daniel came out on top; even though his guess of "Who is Radu Toma" turned out to be wrong, it was no skin off his back since he put up $0.

Audience members gasped and breathed a sigh of relief for Daniel when it was revealed he wagered no money, therefore losing none of his earnings from his wrong guess.

Daniel kept the full $20,800 he acquired in the episode secured, and progressed to Jeopardy!'s semi-finals.

BIG CONTROVERSY

Daniel appeared on Jeopardy! last year.

During his appearance in May 2022, he had fans in a tizzy after a comment he made about a particular musical artist.

The California math teacher was the first to buzz in during the Jeopardy! round, the category "From Queens."

The correct response for $800 was the acclaimed rapper 50 Cent, who recently performed at the Super Bowl.

Daniel replied: "Who is: 50 Cents?"

Fans were shocked the response, though not accepted, even happened.

"Good call on not taking 50 Cents," one wrote on Twitter at the time, now known as X.

"50 Cents?" wrote a fan as another commented, "He just lost $800 on jeopardy because he called him 50 Cents … You hate to see it."

Daniel ended up the victor with the highest earnings when no one got Final Jeopardy correct - which also frustrated fans.

"What an odd final Jeopardy," one tweeted during the airing.
