HOMEGOODS has confirmed it will extend its returns for the holiday shopping season.

During the holidays, consumer shopping typically increases as customers are scrambling to get their last-minute gifts.

Plus, Black Friday has made it easier and cheaper to score all the same items for a fraction of the price.

This year, HomeGoods followed major retailers like Target, Walmart, Amazon, and more with its return policy.

The retailer has a fairly standard return policy of 30 days for in-store purchases and 40 days for online.

Shoppers will now have an extended window when returning purchased items, one for in-store purchases and one for online purchases.

In-store purchases made between October 8, 2023 and December 24, 2023 may now be returned through January 25, 2024.

Online purchases made between October 8, 2023 and December 25, 2023 may be returned through February 4, 2024.

Just note that the normal return policy will apply to all purchases beginning on December 26, 2023.

THINGS TO CONSIDER

All items must be returned in their original condition in order to receive a refund or exchange.

This means that the item may not be washed, worn, damaged, or altered.

Plus, all hangtags and original packaging must be there if possible.

Those who are returning their items with a receipt but are outside the timeframe may qualify for a merchandise credit.

This credit is redeemable in-store at any HomeGoods store location.

Returns without a receipt will receive a non-transferable merchandise credit.

Returns may also be limited or declined based on the company refund verification system.

This is used to process and track returns to help administer its loss prevention program.

MORE RETAIL RETURNS

In order to gear up for the holidays, HomeGoods isn’t the only retailer offering an extended return window.

Urban Outfitters purchases from November 1, 2023 through December 24, 2023 may now be returned or exchanged until February 29, 2024.

Eligible items returned with an original receipt will be refunded to their original payment when returned before February 29, 2024.

After that date, shoppers will be issued a gift card for the amount paid when returned with an original sales receipt.

H&M is giving shoppers up to January 31, 2024 to make a return or exchange on a purchase made between November 1 to December 25, 2023.

However, the retailer will only accept in-store returns and exchanges with an original receipt, online receipt, or gift receipt.

After December 25, the 30-day return policy will apply to any purchases made from December 26th and onward.
